Xaurneme sighed, and launched herself at her opponents. They seemed as though there was an endless amount of them. Heartless after Heartless appeared, and Heartless after Heartless she destroyed. Xaurneme moved fluidly and quickly.
"You summoned them!" She cried at Ant. "How do you not know how to get rid of them?"

Ant glanced up from the bauble. "Ummmmm" He didn't have an answer. He called his friends when he wanted to play with them, then left them when he was done. More were summoned as his mind lingered on the topic of his friends. "Why are you asking? You looking like you're having fun!"

"Fighting off Heartless isn't exactly my idea of fun," Xaurneme muttered.
She bolted towards one of the Heartless, whipping around her rope dart, hitting two off to her sides with it, then, leaping into the air, hitting the one in front of her with the side of her foot.

Ant watched as the Nobody ran through the ranks of the heartless, slaughtering them one by one. She had mentioned something about calling them off. Did that mean he had some form of control over them? He sat there thinking, absently bouncing the bauble from one hand to the other. Finally he had an idea.
Ant stood to his impressive height of two feet and raised a claw. Instantly, the shadows whipped their heads around and stared at Ant. Ant meanwhile was very pleased with himself. "Look what I can do!" he exclaimed, causing the shadows to sink into the ground only to reemerge, then repeat the process.

Xaurneme blinked once, staring between Ant and the shadows. So he does have power over them.. she thought.
"Ant, keep them down like that," Xaurneme called to the little Heartless. "Make them go away, this game isn't fun anymore."
She hopped from rock to rock, closer to Ant. More curiosity confronted her. She hadn't known that certain Heartless had power over other Heartless. This strange little creature standing in front of her amazed Xaurneme, and it took quite a bit to impress her.

Ant lowered his claw and the shadows vanished completely. He was very proud of himself that he could control them like that. In his hundreds of years in existence he never knew he could do that! "That's amazing!" he exclaimed jumping onto the Nobody's back, the bauble in hand. "Lets go somewhere with lotsa people and play a BIG game! It'll be so much fun! It'll be like I'm in a million places at once and playing with EVERYONE!

Xaurneme plucked Ant off her back, and brought him around to face her.
"No more games for now," She said, gently. "We'll play later."
She replaced the Heartless on her back, and made her way towards the forest. I have to see that again.. thought the Nobody. Test his abilities..

Ant hummed to himself, gripping onto the Nobody with one claw and spinning the bauble around with the other. He didn't know what the tune he was humming was, or even that he was humming to begin with, but he continued on while he toyed with the bauble, thinking.

The creature he was riding seemed nice enough. He couldn't feel a heart in her, that confused him, but he didn't have enough interest in the matter to do anything about it. He didn't know anything about this person now that his mind was on the subject. But she was nice to him and played a lot more then others did, so it didn't really matter. But the one thing he was most curious about, he voiced his curiosity. "Where we going?"

"We're going somewhere special," Xaurneme told Ant. "Somewhere that nobody will be able to interrupt our game."
Reaching the shore, Xaurneme made her way swiftly through the dead and fallen trees, over mounds of gray-brown dirt, and around natural pitfalls and other obstacles. Maybe I've found an ally.. Xaurneme thought, her mind lingering on Ant's ability to control other Heartless. Finally, someone powerful enough that they're worth my time.

Xaurneme stopped and glanced around, debating whether or not she was deep enough into the dying, withering forest. For miles, all she could see was the graying, dead bark of trees and the dismal, brown forest floor. She plucked Ant off her back and set him on the ground.
"Ant, could you do me a favor?" She asked, kneeling down to be closer to the tiny thing.

Ant's eyes seemed to show he was smiling. "What can I do? I wanna help!" She had mentioned a game. It seemed like a special game if they were going to be the only ones playing and no one else could join. Ant was excited to be playing this game. . . whatever it was.

"I want you to summon one of your friends, Ant," Xaurneme stated, masking the curiosity in her voice. "But I want you to try and keep him from trying to play Heart Tag with me."

Ant laughed. Truly laughed. "That's easy! I'll try and make it interesting though." He raised one claw and a large pool of pitch black nothing spread about the ground. A shape began to take form, rising out of the darkness, its massive claws digging into the earth as it dragged itself from the Heck in which it came. "I don't ask this one to play much. No one plays very long with him." Ant said, matter of factually. The enormous creature stood on four legs, its full height at least fifteen feet tall. Its head was shaped like that which came from a nightmare. Twisted and hideous, the mere sight of it would cause a normal human to scream in terror. Ant looked quite pleased with himself as the Heartless simply sat there, staring at the Nobody in front of him. "This is the best kind I've ever called. They're real fun to play with if you can find one of those people with those keys."

Xaurneme glanced at the huge creature nonchalantly.
"Why doesn't anyone play with him for very long?" She asked Ant, disregarding the key comment.
Xaurneme circled the giant Heartless, examining it as thoroughly as possible. She kicked its foot once, gently, testing out how solid the thing was.

"It likes to use them as chew toys." Ant said, mirth in his voice. The kick passed right through the heartless, distorting the foot for a second before it reformed once more into a solid piece. Ant was loosing interest again. This wasn't very fun to just call his friends just to have the strange female walk around in circles looking at it. That's when he got an idea.

Without warning the massive beast vanished in a cloud of darkness. A second later it leaped out of the shadows, howling in blind hunger, claws reaching for her. All the while, Ant was curled up on the ground, laughing and no longer bored.

Xaurneme sidestepped the creature, yawning.
"I don't understand how anyone could lose to an over sized puppy dog like this," She said, bored. Xaurneme easily avoided every lunge, every attack, of the gigantic Heartless. Glancing at Ant, who was writing on the ground in laughter, Xaurneme faltered. She was distracted, so she'd tripped a bit, leaving herself vulnerable for a split second.

The enormous creature was on her before the eye could blink, latching on with its jaw. Ant looked up from his laughter still giggling. "Uh oh, better get out before he . . . " he didn't have a chance to finish as the heartless roared and a blast of dark energy shot from its mouth, enveloping the Nobody. While the darkness was still clearing the creature began whipping it's head back and forth in sharp jerking movements, trying to snap the Nobody's neck.

"You still there?" Ant asked curiously. He hoped she was. This was his idea of fun.

Xaurneme braced herself, being surrounded in darkness.She collapsed from the sudden burst of energy. As it faded she saw the beast whipping it's head from side to side, inches above hers.

The heartless raised its claw for the finishing blow, and froze. Both Ant and the heartless focused their sight somewhere in the heavens. Whispering played in Ant's ear's, and he listened. "I got to go. Sorry. It was fun playing!" he said as he sank into the ground, being engulfed by the portal of darkness. The heartless also sank into the ground and vanished, not even bothering to attack the Nobody.

Xaurneme rose to her feet, gasping slightly. Such power in a small being, she didn't know how it was possible. But she liked the thought of it. She walked off, not knowing where she was going.
"Maybe I can find someone else to play with now." She said, smiling a bit.
She always smiles, despite herself.
